The 5 P's of Presentation

By Hannah Cho

Use these 5 quick tips to help you prep and perform your next speech!!

  1. Planning

    1. Decide the amount of time it would take to construct your speech.

    2. Plan the illustration of this, and plan how much time you have to practice.

  2. Preparation

    1. Understand the audience’s needs for your speech.

    2. Brainstorm your topic to fit their needs.

  3. Consistency

    1. Make sure your words are consistent, make sure you don’t contradict yourself

    2. A “C” in the 5 “P’s” shows the importance of consistency, and how strange it would be if your speech contained a contradiction.

  4. Practice

    1. Practice makes perfect. It is not just reading your script a couple of times, it is memorizing your main points and thinking of the perfect way of presenting them.

  5. Performance

    1. A speech is not just about reciting a script you’ve written. It is about engagement with your audience and helping them understand your point.
